Good night turned bad
We have attended two comedy showings at this location and both times had a very positive experience. They have a respectable beer selection and the venue itself is well done. When picking a show we tend to youtube a bit on each comic to see if they are a good fit for us and that certainly helps find a good match. The last comic standing series was the exception to that but was great because you get 13 comics at 5 minutes each. The place has always been clean, the waitstaff came by often enough to suit us, the entertainment has been very good. Early shows are typically less crass from what I hear, so schedule appropriately. :)
Good night turned bad. At first very good.
Food is probably less appealing than your local fast food joint, a single beer will cost you around $10. Main comedian was funny... But the opener Ryan was absolutely terrible. Never have I ever seen more of a trash comedian before. Like that kid in your 9th grade homeroom that thinks he's funny but just absolutely annoying and won't keep his mouth shut. Not even remotely funny. Should probably look into different career options. His family probably owns it and felt bad so they gave him a job in stand up.. He was just awful, cringe worthy awful. Was almost embarrassed listening to him talk on stage as the crowd watched him mostly in silence as one or two intoxicated people subtlety laughed. Won't be returning anytime soon.
Originally the comedy show was going well we were all enjoying our evening. Erin was awesome and so happy she won. On a bad note, she didn't even have a full audience to see her receive her recognition because of the host - such terrible, disgusting, vulgar, nasty, filth that he was saying that he thought was funny. The other comedians did a great job and at first he was funny at the begging of the show. Maybe he got drunk as the evening went on, didn't know I just know he ruined the end of the show. That's not just my opinion, it's also the opinion of the many, many.. people that walked out before finding out who won. I normally wouldn't say anything negative about anyone that is trying to entertain. At first I tried to stay but he got more and more disturbing. I thought maybe it just was going to be quick and I'd deal with it but every time he opened his mouth his comments were more vulgar than the last. I walked out and then as I waited outside to see who won I would ask others that were coming out who won and each of them would say I don't know because that guy was disgusting and they couldn't stand being in there. This wasn't just a few, they were leaving by the dozens. I think it was terrible that he didn't notice how the room was clearing out or he did and he didn't care. I wouldn't want to offend someone by walking out, however it was so vulgar and nasty I needed to leave and as I said so many others did too. I felt bad for the comedians that no longer had much of an audience left because they were so disgusted by the things that the last guy was saying. They said he won season 2 I can't imagine that this garbage is the same thing he was using Sunday evening was the same stuff he used then. In the beginning of the show he seemed funny, then as we waited for the results, he was not funny, his commentary was so over the top vulgar, disgusting, absolutely awful. It was such a shame that someone else's victory wasn't all it should have been. I apologize to Erin, I wish you all the best. You should have 5 stars.
We attended the Comedy club on 12/23 to see Orlando Baxter. Prior to attending we had dinner at the buffet. We went directly from the buffet to the comedy club. I asked for the details & told the attendant that I had never been to a comedy club before & wanted to know the scoop. She proceeded to inform me that the next show was about to start & that there was still seating left & that the tickets were $20.00 each. We decided to attend & once the tickets were paid for she said IF you decide to purchase food & drink there is a $10.00 minimum purchase. We were not even aware that food & drink would be an option we thought we were just going in to see the show, as I stated we JUST came from the buffet & therefore had no intention on purchasing any food &/or drink during the show making this a non-issue for us. After we sat down a waitress came over & asked what we wanted to eat or drink, we told her that we were all set, thank you. She then told my husband: I want to let you know there is a $10.00 per person minimum. He then relayed that message to me, I said no that is IF we order something & it is per party not per person. I then stepped out & asked someone, they got the manager for me & he was very nice & explained that it is a $10.00 minimum per person minimum (but told me not to worry he would waive it for me (thank you))& asked us to leave our waitress a tip. I had expressed that at $40.00 for two I had to think about it & if I had known that it was actually $60.00 I would not have chosen to enter the show at all. Now I am grateful that he took care of that for me but by now I had missed over ½ of the show. I saw the very beginning & I’m sorry but that guy was so awful I was wondering what did I just waste my money on (AWFUL!), when I came back in the second comic was ½ way through his performance. I just got settled back in when along comes our waitress again asking what we want to eat or drink, we again told her we were all set & she again in a more aggressive tone repeated that there is a minimum purchase of $10.00 per person. I told her I spoke with the manager about that & we are all set. She had such a nasty attitude that with all of the interruptions & the attitude it totally ruined the entire experience for both of us. The show was over before we could be left alone to enjoy it. We were both aggravated & disgusted. Once the show ended I looked around for our waitress & located her to give her her tip, she still had a chip on her shoulder & did not appear to appreciate the tip in the slightest. Just be aware of what the deal is before they take your money so you are fully informed & can hopefully enjoy the show. I am not saying that the headliner was bad nor am I saying that the service was bad, simply the way things went down were unfortunate.
Everything you would expect and more. From the moment we walked in the bouncer noticed my military ID and told me about the 25% off. The waiter was on top of his tables and was very attentive. Finally, the last comix standing show was very entertaining. I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to have a night out.
Very disgusted and disappointed by the host who did the last part of the show.
